China is the origin of tea trees. However, China's contribution to humans in the tea industry is mainly due to the discovery of tea and the use of tea, and its development into a magnificent uniqueness tea culture in China, the East and the whole world . As recorded in the history books of China, before the unknown tea drinking, “the ancients drank water in the summer and the soup in the winter”. Taking tea as a drink has changed the habit of drinking raw water and greatly improved the health of the people. As for tea in Europe and the United States, it is considered "undoubtedly the best gift which the East has given to the West." "If there is no tea and coffee in Europe, drinking alcohol will be more vain." "The benefits of tea for human beings cannot be estimated." Tea is one of the savior of mankind and so on. The facts and compliments mentioned above are concentrated on the point that tea not only promotes the progress of Chinese civilization, but also greatly enriches the material and cultural life of the West and the world. The production and trade of tea and tea in the world, except for North Korea, Japan, Central Asia, and Western Asia, were introduced from China before and after the Tang Dynasty, and rest of them were introduced and developed after the 16th century, especially in the past 200 years. Therefore, ancient tea matters are mainly Chinese tea matters.

The tea tree is a kind of Jia Mu(good tree) in southern China. Therefore, the Chinese tea industry was originally bred, produced and developed in the south of China. The "six dynasties(222AD - 589AD)" . The economic, political, and cultural centers of China's ancient times were in the Yellow River Basin. In the Records of the Historian. In the Han Dynasty, it was still in a backward situation of "population and sparseness." Therefore, in the early literature of China, there are few historical materials about the south, especially tea. Only a few records can be drawn from this:

Bashu is the cradle of tea culture

The tea history data before the Six Dynasties showed that the Chinese tea industry first started in the Bashu. In the early Qing Dynasty, Gu Yanwu pointed out in his Rizhilu that the drinking of tea in various places was slowly spread after the Qin annexed the Ba and the Shu. In other words, the tea culture in China and the world was originally developed in the Ba Shu. Gu Yanwus conclusion unifies all kinds of Chinese dialects about the origin of tea, and it is accepted by most scholars. Therefore, it is often said that the Bashu is the cradle of Chinese tea industry or tea culture.

Tea drinking is a kind of material enjoyment. People are used to linking tea drinking and civilization. Therefore, when it comes to the origin of drinking tea, it is often thought that it will appear after entering the class society. In fact, this is a misunderstanding. It is a common thing in clan society to use some part of the plant to serve as a drink. The Oroqen ethnographic material shows that before 1949, the Oroqen people living in the Daxinganling still stayed in the primitive clan society. At that time, they had the habit of "brewing yellow celery leaves and leaves of Yagda for drinking".
