Like the origin of any species, the origin and existence of tea must be discovered and used by people until they find and use tea trees, they are separated for a long time.
The experience of human tea has also been passed down from generation to generation. It has gradually expanded from some areas, and it has been a long time since it was long before it was gradually recorded.
China's vast territory and numerous ethnic groups have led to the ancestors' understanding of tea in various regions, and the inconsistency in the name of tea. The various synonyms of the teas before the Tang Dynasty mentioned above are evidence. The written records show that our ancestors began to cultivate tea trees and use tea trees more than 3,000 years ago, but the origin of tea must be much earlier.
When did the tea originate? According to the taxonomy of plants, you can trace the roots and find the relatives of the tea tree. According to the study, the angiosperms of tea trees originated in the early period of the Mesozoic, and the progeny period of the dicots were in the middle of the Mesozoic; the appearance of the petrifactions of the Camellia plant was in the middle layer of the end of the Mesozoic Cretaceous. In the Camellia family, Camellia is a relatively primitive population, which occurred in the late Mesozoic to early Cenozoic, and the tea tree is a relatively primitive species in Camellia. Therefore, according to the analysis of botanists, the origin of tea trees has been 60 million years old.
